When I play Doubles I receive error about Food Deposit...

Did you install the folders to the correct folder in your army directory. you need to put them in C:\Program Files (x86)\AMRTS\base or wherever your AMRTS folder is.

I really would hate to necro this but can anyone help make this mod work in single player?

You can't include new units into single player without modding them individually each into every mission.
