Your AMD graphics card no longer supports this game. There are currently two solutions to fix this problem:

1. Try and run the game using dgVoodoo2. Download and extract the files somewhere safe, then copy the D3DImm.dll and the D3Draw.dll folders from the MS/x86 folder and place them into your Army Men RTS directory. Then if the game runs successfully, you can use the dgVoodoo control panel to setup your video options. The website will have comprehensive instructions on how to do this.

2. If dgVoodoo2 does not work, then you will need to get an older version of AMD Drivers. If you computer has recently updated and caused this issue to begin, then you can simply perform the following steps.
  1. Press Windows+R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

  2. In device manager, expand display driver.

  3. Right click on AMD Radeon driver and select properties.
  4. Move to driver tab and look for Roll Back Driver option.

3. If you cannot roll back your drivers, or rolling back does not fix this issue, then you will need to acquire even older drivers through a different method. AMD provides on their website a list of older drivers to install, however for me, I had to use Google in order to find a driver capable of supporting this game... mmm If you do find the driver, first use the AMD Cleanup Utility to first completely remove any AMD drivers from your computer first, and then install your drivers from there.

All three of these I can confirm myself as working methods to be able to play the game again, and I would definitely recommend trying out dgVoodoo first since not only is it the least intrusive option, but it can also provide additional perks to make your game look better. Other methods that can be found on the web, such as renaming dbghelp.dll do not work for this game.
I may not make the best maps, or be the best player, but I put a lot of time, effort, and care into my stuff. That counts for something, right? No.

Which method did you use? Could you describe why they do not work?

First go to the dgVoodoo site and download their zip file:
dgVoodoo v2.63.1 - for regular usage (re-released: 19.01.2020)
http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html

Next, extract the zip file somewhere in your computer, such as Program Files.

Then, go into the MS folder, and then into the x86 folder.
dll.png
Copy the D3DImm.dll and D3Draw.dll files and paste them into your game's main directory.
C:\Program Files (x86)\3DO\Army Men RTS

Now run the dgVoodoo control panel by opening dgVoodooCpl.exe

Click on the 'Add' button on the top right, and add the game's main directory.
Finally click on the DirectX tab and choose the settings you wish to play with.

Once you have set this up you can attempt to run the game using the main executable or your preferred shortcut.
