:OFF Im not here to brag about the map I'm here to help you and someone who recently asked me how do u make a map? :blah:
We'll here's the tutorial on how to do this. First you need to download meths exe.exe program from his fourm link* viewtopic.php?f=10&t=578&hilit=extract
Once that's done you put the exe in your amrts folder where your base.x is. Now you take your favorite non modded map copy it and paste it into the amrts folder. You then go to the bottom left button on your screen click it and click run. Then type in cmd. Then type in the location of your exe.exe in the amrts folder using the words cd\.
Example: cd\program files\3do\army men rts
then type in: exe.exe
then type in: exe.exe x (your fav map).x extracted(Your fav map)\
then type in: exe.exe x base.x extractedbase\
open up both files with BOTH folders open and in your fav map folder just delete types.cfg.
Then in the base folder open objects then army then configs. Copy all of the files and paste it into your fav map folder. You can now place your fav characters into a map change their speed and make them sparkley. XD
all you need to do to do that is open up a hero or what ever and replace commandcost with...
VVVVVVVVVVV theres a space there

Constructor("army.building.hq1");
ConstructionTime(30);
CreateSource("resource.blob.infantry1");
CommandCost(1);
ResourceCost()
{
Add("Plastic", 125);
Add("Electricity", 0);
}
Prereqs()
{
Add("army.building.hq2");
}

Weapon("army.weapon.scorch");
}
}

This is just an example and now you can make scorch in hq have fun!

Oh i almost forgot put in the thing you only want to edit and the army.cfg in the folder

You probably are editing an story map. Don't delete anything from it. Don't delete if_shell.cfg from base. You might have a wrong version from the site. The only way you would get that error is if something is missing or you need to place the file from extracted base if_shell.cfg into your file.

or most likely you need notepad++ to do the build type != into ==
that's the thing you need.

and should we name the extractedbase and extracted base 2 file or leave it as it is and there is no if_shell .cfg in the extracted base or extracted base 2

if_shell.cfg is in client\p\shell.x

yes he probably tried using a normal notepad changing buildtype != into buildtype ==. He needs notepad ++ so he won't get the error. So he needs a fresh copy of a shell.x file again =(
